AWARDS

Janyce Brawn's short story "Once, It was a Dark and Stormy Night" won second place in the Writers’ Road Trip 10 writing contest sponsored by the Pennwriters' Billboard Writing Contest of 2022. Conferees sent in anonymous one page entries of fiction, nonfiction, and poetry. Each attendee voted for the one they like best.

RECENT EVENTS

On Saturday, November 12, 2022, I was part of a group of authors from Pennwriters, signing books at Barnes and Noble in Erie, PA. It was great fun visiting with the other authors and signing books, while the store had therapy dogs wandering around and a kid’s birthday party nearby.

On September 3rd of 2022 I participated in an event with the Tia Book Cellar bookstore at Gibson Park in North East, Pennsylvania. The weather was sunny and great for the Labor Day weekend. Parents sat while their children colored pictures of the characters in the books, as I read a chapter and wore my special 'teleporting hat'. I signed books and gave away coloring pictures to all who came. I appreciate Tia Book Cellar for hosting me and look forward to doing more events like this. — Janyce Brawn
